Establish a boys' volleyball team at our college (College of Lake County)

Establish a boys' volleyball team at our college (College of Lake County)
The Issue
Volleyball is an exciting sport that not only promotes physical fitness but also fosters teamwork, discipline, and strategic thinking. While our college proudly boasts a successful women's volleyball team, we have yet to establish a boys' volleyball team. Creating such a team would be a significant step forward in promoting gender equality and broadening athletic opportunities for male students.
Recently, there has been a growing interest among male students in participating in volleyball, with many expressing a desire for an official platform where they can compete and showcase their skills. Various colleges and universities have successfully implemented boys' volleyball programs, demonstrating the feasibility and benefits, both for student-athletes and the college community.
Implementing a boys' volleyball team would enhance school spirit, provide additional opportunities for athletic scholarships, and allow our college to participate in intercollegiate competitions. It would not only benefit the participants but also draw more spectators to games, ultimately increasing college engagement and camaraderie.
Moreover, studies have shown that students involved in sports are more likely to achieve academic success, which further supports the case for expanding our sports programs.
We propose that the college administration allocate resources to establish and support a boys' volleyball team. This includes hiring qualified coaching staff, securing proper facilities, and integrating the team into our existing athletics framework.
By signing this petition, you will be helping us appeal to the college administration to materialize this vision, creating new avenues for personal growth and athletic achievement for male students. Let's make this a reality for our college community. We urge you to sign and support the creation of a boys' volleyball team.
