My grandmother's life was taken in a tragic accident on Highway 97a North.  She was involved in a head-on collision.  I would like to believe if there was a meridian her life would have been spared and instead of a celebration of life, we would have celebrated her recovery.  This highway has seen many accidents and claimed many lives, including that of a 6-year-old child, how many more lives need to be claimed before something is done about this?  With a highway speed of 100 km an hour, there is no reason this highway should not be divided, the space in the center is permitting of a meridian.  There was 10.8 million dollars spent to make the highway "safer" and yet something so easy that could prevent accidents like these in the future was overlooked.
