Eradicate Global Poverty and Improve Living Conditions
The Issue
I am a survivor of extreme poverty, having lived in a Third World Country where the harsh realities of destitution were an everyday ordeal. Compared to living in America, what a Culture Shock that was for me to have to endure. This personal experience has made me acutely aware of the urgent need to eradicate poverty worldwide.
Poverty is not just about lack of money; it's about lack of opportunity, education, healthcare, and basic human rights. According to the United Nations, as many as 10 percent of the world’s population live in extreme poverty - surviving on less than $1.90 per day (UNDP Report 2020). This is not just a statistic; these are real people who are trapped in a cycle that they cannot escape from. I've personally done the math countless times; it truly takes $0.10 per day to feed a person.
By providing Signatures THIS PROOF will help to Create Policies, Programs, and Businesses Aimed at Eradicating Poverty and moving everyone to Comfortable and AFFORDABLE Living Standard. It also lets it be Known that these changes are needed.
The impact is far-reaching and affects us all. The World Bank states that high rates of poverty can slow economic growth (World Bank Report 2019), which means even developed nations feel the effects indirectly through global economic instability. We all have a responsibility to help those in need escape a life that we once had to experience. No man shall be left behind or left out, unless they choose to be.
It's time we took collective action to address this issue head-on. We must urge our governments and international organizations to prioritize policies aimed at eradicating poverty globally and improving living conditions for everyone. I doubt that anyone would want to remain in that state and condition but after so many battles of trying to escape poverty, I can understand why. We should always be prepared to encourage the continuance of the ability to overcome any and every obstacle that we face.
As many has witnessed my advocacy behind The Clean Slate Act of New York, which has been passed and signed into Law, with this Second Chance at life, poverty should not have to be added to the stress of starting one's life over after being subjected to hindrances and blockages of finances, housing, and the ability to be able to provide for one's family.
This petition calls for immediate action towards this cause because no one should be forced into or remain trapped in poverty due to circumstances beyond their control.
