Equity by SVii – Restoring Dignity, Health, and Balance for Texas Women and Families
The Issue
Texas women have long carried the weight of policies that dismiss their health, their time, and their humanity. The recent abortion bans have only amplified this burden, stripping away critical choices and leaving women to navigate the physical, emotional, and financial consequences without the support they need.
The reality is simple: Women are the backbone of our families, our communities, and our economy. Yet, our workplace policies fail to reflect their immense contributions. Women in Texas—particularly single mothers—are often forced to choose between their health and their paycheck.
That’s why Equity by SVii is fighting for change.
Our initiative is built on the belief that health is a human right and that workplace equity is not optional—it’s necessary. We are calling on Texas lawmakers to implement policies that reflect the realities of women’s lives:
1. Menstrual Paid Leave: A groundbreaking policy to allow women the time they need to manage their menstrual health without losing income or using their limited sick days. This is about more than comfort—it’s about recognizing the physical toll that menstrual health takes, especially in a post-abortion-ban Texas where access to care has become even more restricted.
2. A Four-Day Work Week: A forward-thinking policy that gives all employees—especially single parents—the time to balance work and caregiving responsibilities, leading to improved well-being and increased productivity.
3. Comprehensive Health Equity Policies: Including lactation rooms, mental health resources, and subsidized childcare, these measures will address the holistic needs of women in the workplace and ensure that no one is left behind.
Why Now?
The abortion bans have highlighted how deeply disconnected our policies are from women’s lived experiences. These bans have placed an unprecedented strain on women’s physical and mental health, yet workplace policies have not adapted to meet this new reality.
It’s time to restore the dignity and humanity that these laws have stripped away. By enacting menstrual paid leave and a four-day work week, Texas can lead the nation in workplace equity, setting a precedent that values the health and well-being of all employees.
This is not just a women’s issue—it’s a family issue. When we support women, we support their children, their partners, their communities, and our economy. This is about creating workplaces that reflect the values we claim to hold: fairness, dignity, and respect.
Join the Movement. Sign this petition to demand that Texas lawmakers implement these transformative policies. Let’s show the nation that Texas can be a leader in equity and innovation—not just in business but in human rights.
Your signature is more than a name on a page—it’s a stand for justice, health, and a brighter future for women and families in Texas. Together, we can make Equity by SVii a reality.
