I support your request. This is dear to me, as I have helped facilitate and coach parents and students toward early graduation for early college, career, or trade for some time. One of those students is graduating early from an LRSD high school in the class of 2026. She also shared some of the same concerns. I will bring this concern up tonight at the board meeting. It may be worth attending the February 26, 2026, board meeting to provide a 3-minute public comment to the entire board, so they are aware. (It’s harder not to hear students in person)

In full disclosure, I am ending my time on the board after serving two elected terms this March; however, I am committed to starting the conversation and research to draft policy at the board level to start the work for equal and inclusive recognition before I conclude my service on the Little Rock Board of Education (School Board).

School Boards and their members work for students as well.
