Many tow truck operators risk their lives everyday helping people whose vehicle is disabled. Rather it be on the road, in town or in their driveway. Yet they do not have the assurance that they have continuous employment. Statistically 1 tow operator is killed every 6 days and that’s not even counting the operators that get injured on the job from by getting hit by another vehicle on the road and surviving. With that being said why hasn’t tow industry been considered for union?

 Many families have buried another family member who has been killed while being in this industry but, they struggled financially due to not having any life insurance policies or company insurance. Being in the towing industry many families struggle financially to maintain their household after the death of the tow operator especially if they are the main source of income. Also note, that big towing industries reject OSHA Intervention. Another thing that should be considered is when a person goes into retirement from this line of work. They do not get the same opportunity for a 401k. They only are able to get social security and what good is that financially for someone who needs to survive?

 Please help me unionize the towing industry and allow families comfort in knowing they are secured if and when bad things happen in life. With this petition I would like to gain attention and draw awareness to those who are unaware of the seriousness and sometimes severe conditions that a tow operate may have operate in.

 I hope for this petition to ultimately improve the life and wages of tow operators. The only way the change can happen is if we all come together for this petition and we gain attention from the law makers who have jurisdiction and set the presidents of the tow industry. If I were to win this petition I would be very happy knowing that I made a positive impact not only for my family but many other families across the nation as well. If I don’t win I will be satisfied that I at least tried my best to making the change happen with what help has been given for this change.
