Equal Education Rights for Non-EU Migrant Youth in Ireland

Equal Education Rights for Non-EU Migrant Youth in Ireland
The Issue
📢 Sign this petition to urge the Irish government to reform immigration policies affecting young non-EU migrants!
The Issue
Thousands of young migrants who have lived in Ireland for most of their lives are unfairly excluded from accessing third-level education. Current policies:
❌ Deny them free fees and student grants.
❌ Classify them as non-EU students, charging higher tuition fees.
❌ Do not count time spent in Ireland before age 16 towards citizenship applications.
Our Demands
We call on the Irish government to:
✔️ Reclassify dependent minors & young adults from Stamp 3 to Stamp 1G to allow them to study and work.
✔️ Fast-track naturalization applications for young migrants who have studied in Irish schools.
✔️ Recognize residency, not just citizenship, as a qualification for student grants and free fees.
✔️ Allow tuition fee reversals for students who obtain citizenship while in college.
Why This Matters
📌 Ireland needs young, skilled graduates for its economy.
📌 Other EU countries already provide residency-based access to education.
📌 Many of these students have lived in Ireland for years and consider it home.
