MEETINGS WITH DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION, MCG & GMDA
DEAR PARENTS
First of all, Thank you to everyone who supported the petition — 17,000+ citizens came together, and our collective voice has reached the officials and authorities.
On 27th August, the Core Team met senior officials from the District Administration, MCG and GMDA. WE raised our serious concerns as parents and citizens for immediate action as well as engagement with the officials on long term basis. As an immediate step, 5 major waterlogging hotspots have been identified and communicated to the officials based on a crowdsourced data collected vide a website created by our key member Abhishek Rawat. these areas are : • Subhash Chowk • Sohna Road – Airia Mall to Subhash Chowk • Mayfield Garden Road / Vikas Marg • Sheetla Mata Mandir Road • Dhanwapur Road / Tek Chand Nagar . over the next 4 weeks, GMDA will work on action plans for these areas, while the Core Team tracks progress on the ground. A *Monsoon Action Plan for Gurugram* by Joint Commissioner MCG , Mr Yash Jhaluka is expected to be made public by 10th September for opinions and suggestions. ( we shall share it here and it will be available on MCG official website) We are working on a citizen platform where residents can share photos and ground updates to help track progress transparently.( shall take 1-2 days for it to go live) A follow-up meeting with the District Administration is planned for *11th September* to review actual progress, and the sync between various departments to achieve our end. *This is an important first step — now our focus is to ensure that commitments translate into visible action on the ground.

The overwhelming response to the petition (17000+ now) has made one thing clear: residents want more than a petition — we want sustained citizen participation and accountability. We are therefore creating a voluntary WhatsApp Community for residents who would like to stay informed, share verified ground-level concerns , participate in further representations to the authorities and most importantly - JOIN US FOR HANDS ON CAMPAIGNS TO KEEP THE CITY CLEAN, BEAUTIFUL AND FREE OF BROKEN ROADS, POTHOLES AND WATERLOGGING.
