Ensure Religious Freedom for the Ahmadiyya community in Pakistan
The Issue
Innocent people are being killed because of these uneducated elements in society, who leverage religion as a weapon rather than a beacon of peace and understanding. The recent lynching of an Ahmadi individual in Pakistan is not an isolated incident but a chilling reminder of the ongoing persecution faced by the Ahmadiyya community in Pakistan.
The Ahmadiyya community, which reveres peace and harmony, is unfairly targeted by certain extremist factions like the TLP (Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan), who falsely proclaim themselves as guardians of religion. However, their actions wildly contradict the peaceful teachings of Islam.
Islam, a religion overwhelmingly embodying peace, equality, and tolerance, is being grossly misrepresented by these so-called 'Mullahs'. Ahmadis are not only being killed and tortured; they are systematically denied basic religious rights. They are not allowed to identify as Muslims or practice their faith freely, directly contradicting the essence of religious freedom inscribed in human rights charters worldwide.
It's time to stand up for the Ahmadiyya community in Pakistan. The Pakistani government must ensure that all citizens, regardless of their faith, have the freedom to practice their religion in peace without fearing for their lives. Freedom of religion is a fundamental human right that should be accessible to everyone.
We urge the Pakistani authorities to hold accountable those inciting violence and hate. Strict actions must be taken against those who promote and carry out violence against the Ahmadiyya community.
By signing this petition, you are supporting the call for Pakistan to restore freedom to practice one's faith without threat or discrimination; for justice to be served, and for peace to prevail.
Update 25/04/25
Another Ahmadi Muslim has been martyred last night in Bhullar, Kasur, Pakistan.
19 year old Muhammad Asif was on his way home last night, when at approximate 10.45pm, he and a friend were ambushed by anti-ahmadi extremists. He was shot and martyred. The assailant fled immediately after the attack.
We all need to spread this petition as much as we can, so the voices of Ahmadis can be heard and justice is served.
