Ensure no public funds for illegal immigrants in housing

I’ve watched with growing concern as our government struggles to manage the housing crisis in the UK. As a citizen who has worked hard all my life, it pains me to see fellow UK citizens and families waiting in line for housing while illegal immigrants are prioritized without meeting certain conditions. It's about fairness and ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated to those who are legally entitled to them first.
The current situation needs urgent attention. According to the latest data, there are over 280,000 homeless people in England alone (Shelter, 2023), and many more living in precarious conditions, waiting for permanent housing solutions. Meanwhile, there's a disconnect in how resources and services are being distributed, often favoring those who have not undergone the legal processes to reside here. This is particularly harsh when you consider the taxpayer contributions made by UK citizens, which should rightfully prioritize their needs.
The government must reassess and strengthen its policies regarding illegal immigration and public resource allocation. Illegal immigrants should not receive housing before UK citizens, nor should they benefit from government funds at the expense of those who are legally waiting in line. A fair approach would include conditioning any form of aid on their legal status and ensuring that no cash assistance is provided to those residing illegally, without proof of pursuing a legal immigration pathway.
Moreover, it would be beneficial to implement faster and more efficient processing systems for immigration to reduce illegal residency and help those who can contribute positively to our society to integrate legally and securely.
We call on the government to make this a priority, ensuring that all citizens are seen and served first. This is not to ignore the plight of immigrants but to preserve the integrity and fairness of our social systems for those who fund and maintain it.
