Ensure Medusa has snakes for eyebrows
The Issue
Growing up, I was always fascinated by mythical creatures and their unique characteristics. One of my favorites has always been Medusa, the legendary gorgon from Greek mythology who has snakes for hair. However, there's always been one glaring inconsistency that has bothered me and my fellow mythology enthusiasts: why does Medusa only have snakes for hair and not for her eyebrows?
Medusa's visage is iconic, well known for the snaked locks that could turn onlookers into stone with a single glance. But, if her hair is made of serpents, why would any other part of her facial hair, such as her eyebrows, remain untransformed? It only makes sense from both a logical and aesthetic perspective that her eyebrows would also consist of tiny serpents, adding to her formidable and fearsome appearance.
This suggestion might seem like a small detail in the grand tapestry of mythology, but it speaks volumes to us who hold these stories dearly. Updating her character design can bring a fresh perspective to her tale, inspiring new fans and reigniting interest among longstanding ones. Modern depictions in movies, video games, and literature could integrate this aspect, enriching the visual storytelling with a more comprehensive and enhanced portrayal of Medusa.
We propose reaching out to creators, artists, and developers to adopt this change in all future representations of Medusa. This call to action is not merely about aligning her physical characteristics with the mythological logic but about sparking joy and authenticity in imaginative interpretations.
Please join me in advocating for this change that respects and revives the mythological accuracy of Medusa. Together, we can see this creative vision realized and celebrated across various media. Your signature can make the difference in transforming Medusa's narrative, one serpent at a time!
