Ensure Adequate Mental Health Resources Are Met For Children and Young People

Ensure Adequate Mental Health Resources Are Met For Children and Young People
The Issue
Like many young people/children, I used to struggle with mental health issues on a daily basis.
A news source, from tonight states the NHS has now introduced when calling through to 111 you can now speak to someone regarding something you're facing mentally & emotionally that triggers your mental health off.
Well, the reason for this petition is because it is time for a change. By, all means keep the phone services on NHS 111, but I think it’s time we introduced something a lot different in our local communities.
It is, with great sadness that almost 350,000 children and young people, are awaiting treatment. This should not be happening but unfortunately it is.
As an individual, I have completed a course in Understanding Mental Health within Children and Young People, I now hold a certificate in this and would find this to be useful in so many areas.
It would be so helpful, especially for children and young people that should not ever have to face this, have someone to recognise mental health/illness when it comes to dealing with this issue.
I believe communities, should have a certain amount of those trained in mental health within young people and children, to visit those from their own homes that are in need.
Perhaps, have someone to visit them as often as they need it until they have been signposted to the correct place of help or if home visits from a potential volunteer goes a long way, then maybe the likes of CAHMS may not be needed.
Thank you for reading.
