I am a transwoman in Alberta Canada. I have been transitioning for over 10 months now, and I've been enjoying every minute of it. There's been highs and lows but most importantly there is the love and support from the community. The LGBTQIA2S+ community is the most amazing community I've ever been a part of. I'm not about to let it be walked all over and destroyed here in Canada, especially not by Muslims and Christians. In case you haven't heard there is a group that is growing, it currently consists of Muslims and Christians, but I have no doubt that people from other religions will step in and unite with them. This group of religious fascists is trying to organize an event of 1 million plus people to march across Canada, to stop Trudeau from pushing support, equality, inclusivity and LGBTQIA2S+ education. The effect on the community that this could have, is potentially devastating. There are genderqueer and heteronormative non-conforming people of all ages and walks of life, spread extremely far and wide across Canada. I do not want to see my community squashed by religious fascists who only want to kill us and act like they are above us. 

This petition is to help raise awareness, and get the government moving in a direction that grants security to the LGBTQIA2S+ educational aspects of society, and provides law enforcement protection services specifically designed, and trained, to deal with any LGBTQIA2S+ hate crimes. If this petition can reach enough people and be signed by as many people as possible, maybe just maybe Trudeau will not allow this hateful religious movement across Canada. If this million person march is allowed to go across Canada, hate crimes against the community will rise from 65% as of March 2023, to potentially 80 to 90%. This is lives being threatened. Security for just existing is threatened. People will be afraid to go to work, children will be afraid to go to school. This is not something I want to see happen in Canada. A genderqueer child in grade whatever, should not have to fear for their life because they are not identifying with their assigned gender at birth (agab). A transgender woman just living her life and driving to work everyday, should not have to be worried for their life because they are trans. Everyone within the LGBTQIA2S+ community is human, is valid, is and does deserve to be seen and heard. We are human, we are here, and we are not leaving. 

As of today August 9th 2023, it may already be too late, but that does not mean to ignore this and cross your fingers that everything will blow over. The time to act is now, regardless if you are an ally or a part of the community in any way, it is now your responsibility to your community, to anyone you know within the community, to unite and stand with each other in solidarity against this million person march, and it's hateful rhetoric. No such love like Christian hate.
