First and foremost, we want to express our heartfelt appreciation for the dedication and hard work you put into making our school a nurturing and thriving environment. The parents hold you in high regard and are extremely happy with the school's engagement and educational programs. Your leadership and commitment to our children's education and well-being have always been commendable. However, due to the recent shooting threat that was discovered in the school bathroom, we are deeply concerned about the safety protocols and communication practices in place.

We, the undersigned parents of students attending Porter Ranch Community School, are writing to express our deep concern regarding the recent shooting threat that was spray-painted in graffiti “Shooting Soon” in the middle school bathroom at Porter Ranch Community School. The safety and security of our children are our utmost priorities, and this alarming incident has heightened our awareness of the vulnerabilities within our own school’s security infrastructure.

In light of these concerns, we respectfully request that part of the annual funds raised by parents be allocated toward enhancing the security measures at Porter Ranch Community School. Specifically, we propose the following improvements:

1. **Installation of Security Cameras:** Security cameras placed strategically around the school premises would serve as both a deterrent to potential threats and a means to monitor and respond to suspicious activities effectively.

2. **Construction of a Brick Wall Along the Track Field:** Building a brick wall along the track field would provide a physical barrier from the parking lot that can help protect our students from external threats, ensuring a safer environment during outdoor activities.

3. **Implementation of Metal Detectors:** Metal detectors at the entrances of the middle school would help prevent weapons from being brought onto school grounds, thereby enhancing the safety of students and staff.

We believe these measures are necessary steps to safeguard our children and provide peace of mind to parents, students, and staff. The recent threat has underscored the importance of proactive security enhancements, and we trust that you will give this petition the serious consideration it deserves.
