My brother, Ben, tragically died last year in an accident on A37 at Break Heart Hill. As the inquest has been delayed again to nearly 2 years after the event, our family feel compelled to take action. Ben was only 28 years old, driving to work on a clear January morning.

There is a growing consensus among locals that safety measures on this road are inadequate. Accidents are not uncommon for this hazardous stretch of the A37, with the hidden dip of Break Heart Hill (near the Maiden Newton/Sydling St Nicholas turnings) having been identified as a particular hotspot. We urge the Highways Agency & local authorities to take immediate action, improve signage, change road markings, and establish other precautionary measures to prevent further unnecessary accidents.
