Hazelwood coal power station is Australia’s oldest and dirtiest. It causes 15 percent of Victoria’s climate pollution. Closing it is the single biggest step Australia can take to clean up our energy supply. Tell ENGIE CEO Isabelle Kocher it’s time to close Hazelwood and look after the community.

The Age newspaper is reporting that Hazelwood could close early next year. In May after pressure from the Victorian community, Hazelwood owners - French energy giant ENGIE - said they might close the polluting power station. Now the ENGIE Board are meeting at the end of October to decide Hazelwood’s future.

Community pressure has had an impact once. Now we need it again to make sure that ENGIE makes the right decision – to close Hazelwood and meet its responsibilities to workers, the environment and the local community.
