The protests because of the poisonings in San Pedro de Macoris had reactions from 2 Dominican ministries: The ministry of tourism admitted that this damaged the image of the country and therefore of the so important tourist industry, telling us that Public Health in San Pedro de Macoris was investigating the case - the very department of which rumours said that it had ordered the poisonings - and the Ministerio Püblico stood up publicly for the law 248-12 that holds harsh punishments for poisonings. Nothing was heard from San Pedro de Macoris and nothing more happened which strengthens the suspicion that the rumours were right!
