Growing up in the beautiful coastal city of Auckland, New Zealand, the ocean has always been an integral part of our lives. 

It shapes our identity as a nation, with the ocean surrounding all sides of our country.

However, what was once an endless expanse of ocean, abundant in sealife and teeming with colour, now threatens to be a wasteland of dead fish and bleached-out life. 

With the sudden increase in overfishing and relentless demand for seafood, it is crucial we stand up and make a change - NOW. 

Within our country, we are petitioning for stricter security measures surrounding overfishing, and the disposal of bycatch (Sea life that is unintentionally caught and then discarded inappropriately.
