I am a resident of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India, and like many of my neighbors, I am living through a blatant injustice by our building developers. We were promised certain amenities upon purchasing our homes, but to our dismay, we were charged with CAM (Common Area Maintenance) fees before these amenities were even put into action. The result: our society, our homes, are in turmoil.

It is not just an isolated incident; this malpractice has been observed across urban India. According to a 2017 survey by Localcircles, 72% of residents across major cities in India complained about unfulfilled promises by builders. (Localcircles, 2017).

We call upon the Ghaziabad Development Authority, the governing bodies, and our own builders to uphold their promises. Fulfill the provision of all amenities pledged to us as homeowners before charging us with CAM. We have a right to fully functional societies with all the facilities we paid for before working towards the maintenance of the same.
