Enforce clear rules for removing disruptive students in Burlington-Edison

The Issue

Angus is a person who disrupts many classrooms in Lucille Umbarger Middle School. He is constantly getting out of his chair and stampeding around the classroom, screaming at the top of his lungs for students to stop doing anything, and playing games during work times. In my second period, Social Studies, I believe that the class would work better, and get more work done if he were moved to a different class.

According to the Washington State Legislature rules for schools, "Any student who creates a disruption of the educational process in violation of the building disciplinary standards while under a teacher's immediate supervision may be excluded by the teacher from his or her individual classroom and instructional or activity area for all or any portion of the balance of the school day, or up to the following two days" (RCW 28A.600.020 Exclusion of student from classroom—Written disciplinary procedures—Long-term suspension or expulsion. )

This text allows teachers to exclude or expel students from their classroom if they are being disruptive and interrupting their teaching.
