Despite ongoing concerns from parents and regular breaches at the junction, Meath County Council has confirmed they will NOT replace the warden, stating that traffic lights alone are sufficient.

Some measures have been promised:
• Road markings to be refreshed
• Additional ramp on Johnstown Road
• Garda monitoring before schools close for summer

But the core issue remains unchanged — traffic lights only work when drivers obey them, and children should not have to rely on that alone to cross safely.

We will continue engaging with the school, Gardaí, councillors and relevant authorities to push for meaningful safety measures at this junction. The safety of children must come first.
