Dear Supporters,
If you haven't responded to the consultation yet, please make time very soon. It won't take long, and it could be one of the most important actions you take this year. If the Council’s draft Local Plan passes unchanged, large areas of Enfield's Green Belt will be lost forever! Please respond before the deadline.
All the guidance you need to help you to respond can be found on www.enfieldroadwatch.co.uk Your participation could make a huge difference to the result.
The Draft Local Plan consultation runs until Monday, 13 September and we are still working hard to get word out all over the borough and to help people submit a response. Thanks to those of you who have already responded. If you have already responded, please encourage your friends, each of your family members and neighbours to do it too. Every individual response counts. There is no lower age limit.
You joined our mailing list because you care about the Green Belt. Enfield's Draft Local Plan proposes to remove protection from a large area of the borough's Green Belt so it can be developed as housing and industrial sites. This includes the beautiful farmland of Vicarage Farm and all of Crews Hill, including the garden centres, right up to the M25.
Green Belt in Hadley Wood is also targeted as well as Holly Hill Farm where the Council proposes to build a logistics hub, while the former Whitewebbs Golf Course will become another football training camp, restricting existing access to local residents. There are also threatened Green Belt sites, such as Rammey Marsh, in the east of the borough. These sites do not need to be lost. The Council is working against the wishes of the majority of its residents, who do not want to build on the Green Belt when there are in fact alternatives that would be better for all Enfield's residents.
Other ways you can still help
We still need to raise awareness as many residents are still unaware of the threat’s being made to our Green Belt. If you can deliver leaflets in your local area please email us at info@enfieldroadwatch.co.uk
Thank you – Together We Are Stronger!
