End Unwanted Political Emails and Phone Calls Immediately

End Unwanted Political Emails and Phone Calls Immediately
The Issue
Our lives today are busier than ever. Among a multitude of messaging channels, each one of us has the capacity to choose the communications we wish to receive. Unfortunately, unsolicited political emails and phone calls have intruded into our personal time, overloading our inboxes and causing unnecessary disruptions. These calls in particular interrupt our precious time spent with family and friends, not to mention intrude on us during valuable working hours. But they don’t stop there. After-hours calls at night and on weekends are on the rise. This is time we can’t get back. These interactions aren't just bothersome; they're a deterrent in our democratic process.
In the United States alone, more than 58.7 billion robocalls were made in 2019, a significant portion of which were political calls (YouMail Robocall Index, 2020). Simultaneously, it's difficult to quantify the scale of unsolicited political emails as they often bypass spam filters and infiltrate personal inboxes. This glaring ill-usage of communication tactics infringes on personal choices and can lead to voters' fatigue, distorting the essence of democratic choices.
Our petition calls for the creation and enforcement of a law to cease unsolicited political email and phone communications, establishing a comprehensive 'opt-in' system instead. This gives individuals the control over what they receive, promoting a healthier, respectful, and convenient approach to political outreach.
Let us strive for an environment where political discussions are held with consent, not tossed upon us without choice. We urge lawmakers and regulators to take swift action. Sign this petition to put an end to unsolicited political emails and phone calls.
