The Issue

I'm starting this petition because it's become personal. Our government continues to send billions of dollars to Israel annually, and I can't help but think about the countless issues we face right here at home. It's as if we're all trying to raise our families without taking care of our own needs first. We're told on flights to put on our oxygen masks before assisting others. Shouldn't the same logic apply to our nation's foreign policy?

In 2021 alone, the United States provided approximately $3.8 billion in military aid to Israel—funds that could be redirected to improve healthcare, education, and infrastructure in our own communities. We have veterans sleeping on the streets and children going to bed hungry, yet our tax dollars are invested in a foreign nation that consistently opposes UN resolutions and faces allegations of human rights violations.

According to the Congressional Research Service, the U.S. has given Israel $146 billion (in 2018 dollars) since World War II. While our support for Israel has historical roots, it's crucial we reconsider where our priorities lie, especially when our home is struggling. We must focus on rebuilding our own country, tackling domestic problems, and focusing on the wellbeing of our citizens.

It's not about being anti-Israel; it's about being pro-America, pro-peace, and pro-prosperity. If Israel is indeed a strong, democratic ally, then it should be capable of developing its own solutions.

Join me in urging Congress to reconsider and reduce financial support to Israel. Our nation's future depends on us putting our own oxygen mask on first. Let's address the urgent needs within our borders and invest in America for Americans.

Please sign this petition and help ensure a prosperous future for our children by demanding change in how our resources are allocated.
