Problem:
For months now, Jazz Telecom has been repeatedly activating paid Value-Added Services (VAS) on my mobile number without my consent. Despite filing multiple complaints with PTA (Reference Numbers: PTA-JZ-20250320-1872899, PTA-JZ-20250322-1875377, PTA-JZ-20250419-1918444), no justice has been delivered. PTA has failed to conduct transparent investigations and simply closed the complaints based on the operator’s unverified statements.
Recent Incident (26 April 2025):
Today again, multiple services were fraudulently activated without my consent:
Jazz Parho Daily
Weather Walay Daily
WomenWorld Daily
I received OTPs without any action from my side and without entering them, these paid services were automatically activated.
This is a clear violation of consumer rights and digital consent principles.
---
Why It Matters:
Consumers' trust is being destroyed through unauthorized billing.
PTA's failure to act raises serious questions about regulatory neutrality.
Millions of innocent customers could be silently exploited if this is not stopped.
Unauthorized service activations without clear, verifiable customer consent are illegal, unethical, and must be condemned globally.
---
Our Demands:
1. Immediate independent investigation into Jazz Telecom's practices.
2. Strict enforcement of digital consumer rights in Pakistan.
3. Refund of all illegally deducted amounts.
4. Penalties on telecom operators engaging in such deceptive practices.
5. Reforms within PTA to ensure unbiased, fair treatment of consumer complaints.
