The OWN television show Love and Marriage Huntsville sold the promise of displaying successful black entrepreneurs balancing the dynamics of family, friendship, and business; while striving to build a family name and legacy. Overall the purpose was to demonstrate the network power and meaningful impact that black businesses possess within the community of Huntsville, Alabama.

However, throughout the show's existence, viewers have witnessed a mirage of scenes that failed to deliver the promise the show initially founded and irresponsibly broadcasted the emotional, mental, and potentially physical abusive behaviors that were heavily televised during seasons 2 and 3 between Melody Shari and Martel Holt.

In addition to this, the verbal harassment, bullying, slander, and derogatory statements perpetuated by the Scott clan (Latasha Scott, Marsau Scott, Latisha Scott's mother, Ms. Wanda Moore Leeth, and Mark Scott) made both on the show and on social media platforms towards cast member Melody Shari, Melody Shari mother Ms. Van, and the Holt children.

Most recently, Melody Shari and Martel Holt were the victims of a physically violent assault initiated by Latisha Scott's mother, Wanda Moore Leeth, and possibly her affiliates, and any affiliates of the Scott family and members of the Scott family themselves.

It is abundantly evident that the cast and crew's emotional safety and physical well-being are not a thought. There have been no repercussions for the engagement of such violent, volatile, and threatening behavior. Additionally, there have been no provisions for mental health resources provided to the cast members who have been significantly impacted by the ill behavior of other fellow cast members.

Adding further insult, there have been no trigger warnings to the audience of the toxic and abusive dynamics broadcasted and no resources listed of agencies that specialize in abuse, bullying, and social media harassment for those who might be enduring similar circumstances televised. 

Harassment, slander, physical and verbal violence, emotional and mental tauntings and abuse, and lastly, verbal threats of gun violence made by Wanda Moore Leeth, members of the Scott family, and their affliates should never be overlooked by Discovery Communications LLC and producer Carlos King for "entertainment purposes and a keke" at the expense of the physical safety, emotional and mental well-being of affected cast members. 

It is now time to demand action from Discovery LLC and their sponsor, Carlos King (producer of the LAMH show). 

It is now time to take action against parties who have helped broadcast, maintain, and continue to give resources to conducting the depravity of the cast to inflict harm on one another, causing significant injury to what black excellence represents at its core.

Suppose the show does not remove the Scott family Latisha Scott, Marsau Scott, and Ms. Wanda Moore Leeth, and levy heavy consequences for those who engage in abrasive and violent behavior towards targeted cast members both on the show and social media. In that case, the audience will boycott the show until it is removed from being televised.

In addition to signing this petition, please email, tweet, and message Discovery LLC sponsors and inform them of the type of network affiliation supports. 

• Help put an end to Ms. Wanda Moore Leeth's harassment by reporting all her social media until suspended and sending all lives containing physical and gun violence threats made by Wanda Moore Leeth and her associates towards cast member Meoldy Shari to Huntsville authorities. 

 

• Report and send any harassing posts and videos made by Mark Scott to Huntsville authorities and Melody Shari per her request.

 

• Contact and inform Carlos King that his audience will no longer support any show he produces until he appropriately addresses the culture of physical threat, violence, emotional and mental abuse, and taunting perpetuated by the Scott family and Ms. Wanda Moore Leeth.

 

• Contact and inform the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority to address the televised and documented behavior of their members Latisha Scott and Marsau Scott.

We will no longer tolerate such behaviors to go unaddressed for fear of further violent behaviors escalating and the real possibility of physical and fatal harm that targeted cast members face. 

This network has a legal and ethical obligation to ensure that its talent is provided a safe working environment and that its audience is not subjected to images of harassment and abuse in the guise of "entertainment." 

We will not continue to give viewership to abuse and harassment, and we will not sit back while it appears this conglomerate and producer does nothing to stop the chaos from reaching a fatal height.

Call Discovery LLC and Carlos King call to action. Hold them accountable until a resolution that ensures the safety of those affected and the ill behavior of those seeking to cause harm has been addressed.
