End the Silencing of Abuse Survivors

The Issue

I fought a war most never see—a war our government abandoned me in. I was tortured, injured, and left pleading for help. No uniform, no enlistment—just survival. Now I claw my way back to a life that will never look the same. I know I’m not alone. To every survivor still fighting: stand the hell up. Walk arm in arm with me. We are brothers and sisters. It’s time to fight back. I have nothing left to lose. But I will stand up for others who do! No one else left behind! Call to Arms.

For too long, survivors of abuse have been treated as problems rather than victims in need of support and justice. We are the wives, mothers, sisters, and daughters who have been severely injured in a war we never enlisted in. We have been silenced by a system that claims to protect us but instead strips away everything we hold dear. This must end.

Our courts, government, and laws, instead of being our allies, have sometimes become accomplices in our suffering. They have failed to provide the security and justice survivors deserve, leaving many of us without recourse and support during our times of greatest need.

Consider these realities: In many countries, including the United States of America, reports of abuse are met with skepticism, and victims often face re-traumatizing experiences when seeking justice. According to statistics from the World Health Organization, nearly one in three women worldwide have experienced physical or sexual violence in their lifetime, yet many cases go unreported or unprosecuted due to systemic barriers.

We demand change. Enact reforms that will provide real protection and justice for abuse survivors. We need more sensitized and supportive legal systems that believe and empower survivors. This includes comprehensive training for law enforcement and judicial officials, increased funding for survivor support services, and stricter enforcement of laws that protect victims of abuse.

Join us in demanding that the voices of survivors be heard and the systems meant to protect them be reformed. Sign this petition to bring about meaningful change that ensures no survivor is ever left fighting alone again. Together, let’s push for justice, dignity, and healing for all who have suffered.
