The Issue

We are looking for support on putting pressure on organizations doing business with current Rwandan Government since they are clearly pushing this gruesome war in the eastern part of DR Congo. Would you mind signing and sharing this petition Asking Arsenal (There's a French one for PSG) to end its contract with Rwanda.

To the Management of Arsenal Football Club,

We, the supporters of Arsenal, reach out to you with deep concern regarding our club’s partnership with the Rwandan tourism office, Visit Rwanda. While this collaboration was initially framed as a means to promote tourism, we believe it now stands in stark contrast to the values of solidarity, human rights, and peace that Arsenal represents.

Under the leadership of Paul Kagame, Rwanda has become increasingly entangled in the conflicts ravaging the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

Reports from United Nations experts and testimonies continue to mount, implicating the Rwandan government in the support of armed groups that fuel instability, perpetuate violence, and deepen an already catastrophic humanitarian crisis.

For years, Rwandan-backed militias have been accused of committing unspeakable atrocities, leaving thousands of Congolese civilians to suffer unimaginable hardships.

As a globally respected institution, Arsenal wields considerable influence—not just in the realm of football, but in shaping values that transcend the sport. However, by maintaining ties with Visit Rwanda, our club risks appearing indifferent to these grave realities, lending credibility—however unintended—to a regime that stands accused of human rights violations.

We therefore urge Arsenal Football Club to take the following actions:

  1. Immediately terminate its partnership with Visit Rwanda to ensure that Arsenal does not, even indirectly, lend support to the actions of the Rwandan government in the DRC.
  2. Publicly denounce the violence and human rights violations taking place in the Great Lakes region, particularly in the DRC.
  3. Commit to supporting humanitarian initiatives that aid the victims of these conflicts, particularly in the DRC, as a testament to Arsenal’s dedication to justice and peace.

We firmly believe that Arsenal, with its unparalleled global reach and influence, has a unique opportunity to stand on the right side of history. By taking a principled stance, the club can amplify awareness of this urgent crisis and champion the fundamental values that define its identity.

We call upon you to make a bold and ethical decision—one that honors the dignity of those who suffer and reaffirms Arsenal’s commitment to justice, peace, and human rights.

Thank you for considering this appeal. May Arsenal Football Club continue to shine, not only as a beacon in football in EPL and Champions League but as a champion of humanity.
