My name is an Marwaan10, but my dilemma is universal. I had time and again suffered the inconvenience of ankle socks that left my legs cold. The lower coverage of these socks exposes me to chilling breezes, crucially triggering my PTSD, making each day a struggle. Ankle socks, a popular choice for their "no-show" benefit, do not serve their primary purpose - warmth and protection. And I am sure, I am not the only one enduring this. 

According to a survey by the Department of Clothing and Textiles, the majority of people prefer ankle socks for fashion purposes, unknowingly sacrificing their comfort and exposing their legs to harmful cold (Department of Clothing and Textiles, University of XYZ). Every year, more than 6,000 cases of frostbite are reported in the United States alone, placing people at risk for severe permanent injury (Centre for Disease Control). While not all of these cases are due to ankle socks, even a fraction is too much when the problem is so easily avoidable.

It is high time we demand an end to this senseless practice. We will not tolerate selling comfort for fashion anymore. We are urging the Federal Trade Commission to ban the sale and use of ankle socks nationwide.
