End the Pink Tax: Fair Pricing for All In Massachusetts!

End the Pink Tax: Fair Pricing for All In Massachusetts!
The Issue
The pink tax refers to the phenomenon where products marketed towards women are priced higher than similar products marketed towards men, despite there being no significant difference in quality or functionality. The term "pink tax" is derived from the idea that many of these products are often colored pink, but it extends beyond just the color.
Several groups are impacted by the pink tax. Firstly, women consumers are affected as they end up paying more for everyday items such as personal care products, clothing, and accessories. This can result in women spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars more over their lifetime compared to men for essentially the same products.
Additionally, the pink tax can disproportionately affect low-income women who may already struggle to afford essential items. The higher prices make it even more challenging for them to access necessary goods, potentially perpetuating economic inequalities.
We need you to sign this petition so that we can take action toward the pink tax in Massachusetts. We can use this petition and show Seth Moulton, The State Representative, to show that other people support our project.
