End the Genocide, oppression, rape and sexual assault of the English Southern Cameroons

End the Genocide, oppression, rape and sexual assault of the English Southern Cameroons
The Issue
The people of English-speaking Southern Cameroon have endured relentless oppression, marginalisation, and brutal subjugation at the hands of the French Cameroon government, its political leaders, and military forces. Generations have suffered immeasurable loss-families torn apart, children and adults forcibly displaced from their homes, and communities shattered by violence.
Women and young girls have been subjected to unspeakable atrocities, raped and violated under threat of death. Nursing mothers and their infants have been mercilessly gunned down in their homes, on farmland, in churches, and even in hospitals. The ongoing brutality has led to widespread gender-based violence, illegal detentions, and kidnappings, leaving Southern Cameroon in a state of crisis.
Children are robbed of their right to education, living in constant fear for their lives. Thousands have perished, and countless others are displaced, struggling to survive without basic necessities—food, clean water, medical care, or safety.
Since Southern Cameroons’ federation with French Cameroon on the 1st of October 1961, the region has faced escalating injustice. The betrayal reached its peak when the federation was dissolved unilaterally on the 20th of May 1972, stripping Southern Cameroons of its autonomous status. Today, the region stands as the Northwest and Southwest Regions of the Republic of Cameroon, under the shadow of a regime that fears its secession and covets its natural resources.
Southern Cameroon’s roots as a former British trust territory tie it to the Commonwealth, yet its cries for justice echo unanswered.
We urgently call upon the Commonwealth, UK Parliament, United Nations, and the international community to demand an immediate ceasefire, the withdrawal of military forces, and an end to the ongoing genocide and persecution in Southern Cameroon.
We are calling for the ceasefire of the French Cameroon government and armed military forces and an end to the Genocide.
The time for action is now. Stand for humanity, equality, justice, and peace for Southern Cameroons!
