At Severna Park Middle School, the yearly Fine Arts requirement makes it so that students cannot take a world language 2 and AVID at the same time. This restriction limits students' ability to pursue their academic interests and prepare for future educational opportunities. While fine arts are important, they should not come at the expense of other critical subjects that can significantly benefit a student's academic growth and career readiness. By removing this requirement, we can provide more flexibility in scheduling and ensure that every student has the opportunity to tailor their education to their individual needs and goals.
