Every year in the United States, hundreds of thousands of healthy, loving dogs are euthanized in shelters—not because they are dangerous or sick, but simply because they don’t have a home. This is heartbreaking, and it must stop.

We’re calling on U.S. lawmakers, state officials, and animal welfare leaders to end the routine euthanasia of healthy and adoptable dogs across the country. Euthanasia should only be used in rare cases of suffering or danger—not as a solution to overcrowding.

We want to see:

A nationwide ban on euthanizing adoptable dogs
More support for no-kill shelters and foster programs
Increased access to spay/neuter and adoption education
Stronger rescue transfer networks between shelters
