End the Brutal Treatment in Mental Health Care

The Issue

THE INVISIBLE PRIMITIVE CRIME OF BRUTAL “TREATMENT” FOR MENTAL ILLNESS.

Force, control, and assault are not medicine. They are not science, not cure, and not care. When brutality is disguised as treatment, it does not heal—it destroys. It murders the spirit, silences the voice, and breaks the very essence of life.

Across the U.K. and around the world, this invisible primitive crime continues under false labels of “treatment” and “discipline.” But no act of violence has ever been a remedy. True healing can only be found in compassion, respect, patience, and safety—not in coercion, fear, or cruelty.

To continue these practices is to betray humanity itself. This is not medicine—it is abuse. This is not cure—it is crime.

Charter of Conscience
Against the Invisible Primitive Crime of Brutal “Treatment” for Mental Illness

Our Declaration
• Brutality is not medicine.
Force, control, and assault are acts of violence, not healing.
• This is a crime against humanity.
Such practices wound the soul, strip away dignity, and cause irreparable harm.
• This crime is ongoing and global.
From the U.K. to every corner of the world, it hides behind false authority.
• True healing requires respect.
Only compassion, understanding, and safety can restore health.
• We choose humanity over harm.
We name these acts for what they are: abuse, not medicine; crime, not cure.
Our Commitment
• To expose this invisible crime wherever it is found.
• To stand with survivors and honor their voice and truth.
• To demand trauma-informed, compassionate care over force and control.
• To work for change—in law, medicine, and culture—so healing is never mistaken for violence again.

✦ By signing this Charter, we commit to justice, compassion, and true healing.
✦ We pledge to end the invisible primitive crime.
✦ We demand humane care—for everyone, everywhere.

Why This Matters
Having lived this struggle, I know how devastating it is when families or communities, without training, impose their own harmful methods instead of leaving mental health care to qualified professionals. Good intentions without knowledge often lead to deeper wounds.

Mental health is vital to human well-being, yet still buried under stigma and misunderstanding. One in five adults live with a mental illness, yet more than half receive no professional care. This gap pushes people into unsafe, unscientific, and often brutal responses.

We must end these primitive practices and replace them with professional, compassionate, evidence-based care. Mental health deserves the same respect, funding, and protection as physical health.

Take Action
Sign this petition to urge governments and health organizations to:
• Increase funding for professional mental health care.
• Expand trauma-informed training for providers.
• End coercive, abusive practices disguised as treatment.
• Promote public education and awareness to replace stigma with understanding.

Together, we can build a future where healing is humane, safe, and dignified—everywhere and for everyone.
