The distressed citizens of Oro-Ago Kingdom in Igbomina Land, Kwara State, Nigeria, issue a pressing and urgent call for emergency assistance in the face of escalating insecurity. Kidnapping has become a pervasive and menacing threat, leaving our communities in a state of perpetual fear and anxiety. Recent alarming events include a farmer abducted from his farm in Oro-Ago, the attempted kidnapping of the head of the Omugo community that involved gun violence, and the heroic attempt to protect our land from mercenaries that tragically left several beloved youth and security men dead. 

The situation in Oro-Ago Kingdom and surroundings communities, collectively known as ORO Land, has increasingly deteriorated due to relentless bandit attacks. These violent attacks have led to the tragic deaths of many local residents. The human cost of these assaults is immeasurable, and the psychological toll on the community is severe. Residents live in constant fear, unable to carry out their daily lives without the looming threat of violence.

The persistence of these crises calls for immediate action. We urgently request the deployment of increased security forces and military reinforcements to ORO Land. The presence of trained military personnel will help to prevent future tragedies and provide much-needed relief to the beleaguered residents. Additionally, we ask for funds to be allocated towards helping local residents protect themselves and to aid in rebuilding efforts in the affected communities.

Statistics show that in any environment like ours, where protective measures are strengthened, the frequency of such violent acts decreases dramatically. By investing in our safety and well-being, not only will lives be saved, but the long-term prosperity of the region will be safeguarded.

We are eternally grateful to the government for their response to the crisis with the provision of military troops. The first wave of troops has helped tremendously, but the bandits have increased their activity and more troops are needed. We urge the government and all relevant authorities to continue to prioritize the protection and security of our communities.
