Universal Background Checks are an essential way to keep guns out of the hands of people who should not have access to guns. Nearly 43,000 people died due to gun violence in 2023 and this year is already expected to rise above the last. This type of policy would save so many innocent lives and it would be used as a method to promote safety rather than risk. A background check is a simple way to ensure that guns do not get into the hands of the wrong people

My Change.org petition is demanding that the United States Congress pass a Federal Universal Background Check to lower and help stop the amount of gun violence in this country. The United States has one of the highest per capita deaths than any developed country due to guns, and as each day passes, more lives are stolen. A Background Check is simple, proven to be effective, and in my view common sense. 

The time is now because the time is never to loose innocence lives. We must act now to save as many people as possible.
