End Power of Attorney and Guardianship Abuses in Dayton, OH

The Issue

The city of Dayton, Ohio has been witnessing a surge in Power of Attorney and Guardianship abuses. These malpractices lead to the unjust exploitation of vulnerable adults, violating their human rights and dignity. The misuse of guardianship laws, designed to protect individuals who cannot care for themselves, has often lead to financial and psychological trauma for the victims. According to National Center on Elder Abuse, roughly 10% of seniors in the U.S. have suffered some form of abuse but only 1 in 14 cases is investigated, largely due to the lack of a centralized enforcement agency overseeing these matters. A reform in the legal system is urgently needed to clamp down on this injustice, ensuring stronger oversight and stricter punishment for those abusing their positions for personal gain. We urgently demand the local and state governments to address this critical issue promptly and efficiently. Please join us in urging for this much-needed reform. Sign our petition to bring about this change and protect the vulnerable citizens of Dayton, OH.
