Scotland MAKES HISTORY to end #PeriodPoverty. Period!

Hello all 68,403 of you amazing people! We have some HUGE news to share with you. Scotland made a breakthrough in tackling period poverty this week. Period! They have made history by giving more than 1,000 women and girls on low incomes free sanitary products for an initial trial period of six months. That’s pretty amazing! The trial project will focus on seven areas in Aberdeen and was announced by Equalities Secretary, Angela Constance. If it’s successful, it will be adopted by the entire country. This will make Scotland the first country IN THE WORLD to give free sanitary products to women and girls on low incomes: a kick-ass policy that we want many more countries to adopt! Your efforts to talk about period poverty is making history and changing the way we view women and girls. It’s helping the most vulnerable access necessary products on an unprecedented scale - keep up the amazing work! Let Scotland know we’re with them. If Scotland can do this, so can the rest of the UK! Have a lovely week, Laura #PeriodPoverty
