The Issue

I, as the creator of this petition, am deeply concerned about the misleading use of the term "Veterans" in the name of Veterans United Home Loans. In 2021, I personally experienced a distressing situation with this company when I believed it to be a veteran-owned business. It was only after requesting my loan packet from the original lender based in Columbia, MO that I decided to conduct further research on Veterans United.

To my dismay, I discovered that Veterans United is not actually owned or operated by veterans. This revelation left me feeling deceived and betrayed as someone who holds immense respect for our brave men and women who have served in our armed forces.

Furthermore, my personal experience with Veterans United took an unfortunate turn when I reported a questionable document to CEO Nathan Long. Instead of addressing my concerns appropriately, their servicing company Mr. Cooper engaged in actions that ultimately forced me into bankruptcy.

It is evident that using the term "Veterans" in their name creates a false impression among potential customers like myself who seek to support veteran-owned businesses and organizations genuinely dedicated to serving veterans' needs.

While it is important for companies to honor and support our veterans through various means such as employment opportunities or charitable contributions, it is equally crucial for them not to mislead consumers by falsely implying veteran ownership or affiliation.

By signing this petition, we urge Veterans United Home Loans to reconsider their branding strategy and cease using the word "Veterans" in their name unless they can demonstrate authentic veteran ownership or significant contributions towards supporting veterans' causes.

We believe that transparency and honesty are essential values within any business operation. By removing misleading terminology from their name, Veterans United can rebuild trust among consumers who genuinely wish to support veteran-owned enterprises.

Let us stand together against deceptive practices and advocate for truthfulness within corporate branding strategies. Sign this petition to demand that Veterans United Home Loans immediately stop using the word "Veterans" in their name unless they can substantiate genuine veteran ownership or substantial contributions towards supporting veterans' causes.

Together, we can ensure that businesses accurately represent themselves and uphold the integrity of our veteran community.
