Excessive sentences -- 20 years -- 35 years -- 45 years -- 55 years -- 65 years -- 75 years -- 100 years -- all sentences that have destroyed the Black family --sentences that have destroyed the Black man's ability to be with his children -- created a huge void with the Black man's inability to lead his family --excessive sentences have contributed enormously to crime with the explosion of carjackings, robberies, drug usage --excessive sentences have choked the Black man's expansive ability to create wealth and build a legacy --and thus prepare his family for the generations that would be forthcoming -- for some Black men, falling into an abyss of failure welcomed them with open arms. As decades came and went some Black men rose above the misery, but so many felt helpless --consigned to a life of misery --like trees in a forest failing to grow leaves or flowers -- so much misery -- so much despair-- then along came corrupt police circling neighborhoods looking to harass Black boys and harass them the cops did, targeting Black boys for potential jail, crime, maybe even prison.
