End Insurance Red Tape: Prioritize Care for Brain Tumor and TBI Survivor

The Issue

As a brain tumor survivor and a victim of traumatic brain injury (TBI) from a car accident, I have personally experienced the struggle to receive necessary and timely healthcare because of insurance policies that prioritize process over people. After surviving surgery to remove 70% of my brain tumor and confronting the challenges of recovery, my life took another hit when I was involved in an automobile accident leading to TBI.

Instead of the support and immediate care required for this complicated condition, I found myself entangled in the red-tape of insurance bureaucracy. This isn't a problem exclusive to me, but an issue many brain tumor survivors and TBI victims face - an insurance system that delays critical treatments and overlooks long-term care.

The National Brain Tumor Society states that there are nearly 700,000 people in the U.S. living with a primary brain tumor, And the CDC estimates that TBI is a major cause of death and disability, contributing to about 30% of all injury deaths. Yet, insurance companies are failing to provide timely and adequate care to this crucial group of survivors and victims.

This petition aims to change these practices, shifting focus from red tape to the fundamental right to access quality care. We demand insurance companies to prioritize the healthcare of brain tumor survivors, TBI victims and make the necessary adjustments to their policies. The focus should be on nurturing recovery, not navigating bureaucracy. It's time to rally together to change the system - because survivors should only have to focus on fighting for recovery, not for their right to treatment. Please sign this petition to support the pressing need for reform in insurance policy practices.
