The Issue

We, the undersigned, call on the government to end all forms of slaughter that allows animals to be killed without prior non-reversible stunning under religious or cultural exemptions. All animals - regardless of circumstances or species - deserves protection from unnecessary pain, fear and prolonged suffering.

Modern stunning methods are reliable, humane and widely accepted by veterinary and welfare organisations worldwide. Continuing to permit non-stun slaughter contradicts national animal welfare standards and the scientific understanding of animal sentience.

We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders to act now to remove exemptions that permit non-stun slaughter, require universal non-reversible pre-stunning, and ensure transparent oversight of all slaughter practices to prevent avoidable suffering.
