End Inhumane Conditions at Delaney Hall ICE Facility
End Inhumane Conditions at Delaney Hall ICE Facility
The Issue
Yesterday, I visited Delaney Hall, one of the largest ICE detention centers in North Jersey. What I witnessed was absolutely horrifying, and something must be done to end these inhumane conditions. Families of those detained have bravely come forward, revealing the horrific treatment their loved ones are enduring. They report maggots in the food and water so hot it burns their skin. This is not just uncomfortable; it is cruel and dangerous.
Imagine not having access to medications that are essential for health. This is the grim reality for many inside Delaney Hall, including pregnant women who are being denied the care they desperately need. Beyond neglect, there are reports of assaults on detainees, including women and young girls. These abuses are unacceptable anywhere, especially in a facility that should be upholding basic human rights.
As a community, we cannot close our eyes to this suffering. We must demand immediate action from ICE and local officials to address these abuses and improve conditions. There needs to be a full investigation into these claims and immediate reforms to protect those detained at Delaney Hall. We have the responsibility to ensure human dignity is upheld for all individuals, regardless of their immigration status.
Join me in calling for an end to these inhumane conditions. Every signature can help pressure authorities to take swift action in reforming Delaney Hall. Stand with us to protect the lives and well-being of those who need our collective voice. Sign the petition now to demand justice and proper treatment for all detainees.
