End Helicopter Roundups and Slaughter of Wild Horses and Burros

The Issue

I have dedicated over 16 years of my life to advocating for wild horses, burros, as well as domestic and racing horses. My love for these animals reverberates in my soul and their suffering deeply affects me. They are more than just creatures that roam our landscapes; they have served mankind for centuries and deserve our respect and compassion. They are the spirit of America, representing freedom and resilience—yet we treat them with unimaginable brutality.

Helicopter roundups conducted by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) demonstrate this flagrant disregard for their welfare. The plight of these animals is extreme, as they are often sent to slaughter, adding to the estimated 100,000 American horses exported for slaughter annually (source: American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)). This is not only cruel but also unnecessary and wasteful. We are losing our wild horse and burro populations to brutal practices that cause stress, injury, and death.

This needs to stop now. We must shift our paradigm and find humane, sustainable solutions to manage our wild horse and burro populations. This starts with ending helicopter roundups and prohibiting the slaughter of these majestic creatures. Let's fight for their rights and for the respect they deserve. For our wild horses and burros, for our shared history and love of these beautiful sentient beings.

Sign this petition to demand an end to the BLM's brutal practices and champion change on behalf of our wild horses and burros.
