Over 1,350 Australians have now signed this petition.

Before I share today's update, I'd like to tell you why this matters so much to me.

Over the past year, my wife and I have been trying, as best we can, to grow closer to God. The more we've watched our society drift away from Christ, the more we've realised just how much we need Him in our own lives and in our family.

That journey led me to create CatholicJourney365.com. I didn't build it because I have all the answers or because I'm a perfect Catholic. Quite the opposite. I built it because my wife and I need daily prayer. We need Sacred Scripture. We need those daily reminders to keep our eyes fixed on Christ in a world that constantly pulls us away from Him.

Our hope has simply been to create a place where others can also take one step closer to God each day. If it helps someone else grow in their faith, then every hour spent building it has been worthwhile.

That's why this petition means so much to me. It isn't just about opposing something we believe is wrong. It's about standing up for Jesus Christ while encouraging ourselves, our families, and others to draw closer to Him.

In just a few days, more than 1350 Australians have signed this petition. I honestly never expected this level of support, and I want to sincerely thank every single person who has signed, shared, prayed and stood alongside us.

This petition was never created out of hatred. It was created out of love for Jesus Christ, love for His Church, and the belief that Christians deserve the same dignity and respect afforded to every other faith community in Australia.

There were reports that the event had been cancelled. Those reports proved to be incorrect, and the venue continued operating. At the same time, many of our Christian brothers and sisters gathered peacefully outside in prayer and worship.

Please continue to pray for everyone involved, including those who organised the venue. As Christians, we are called to speak the truth, but we are also called to pray for those who oppose us and ask God to reveal Himself to them. Every one of us is a sinner in need of God's mercy.

Our campaign now moves to the next stage.

A full explanation of how this occurred.
A review of any government funding or official association.
A formal apology if public support was provided inappropriately.
Changes to ensure taxpayer money is never used to support projects that mock any religion.
