Update: Over 200 Signatures!

Firstly, thank you to everyone who has signed and shared this petition. In just a short time, we have now reached over 200 signatures, and I am incredibly grateful for your support.

There has also been an update from Charlie Bakhos on Instagram stating that tonight's event will not be going ahead. If that is the case, it is encouraging news and a positive outcome for everyone who spoke up.

However, this does not answer the most important question.

Why was taxpayer money, our money, associated with or used to support a venue that many Christians believe openly mocks the Christian faith?

This petition has never been about silencing people. It is about accountability.

Australians deserve to know:

How did this happen?
Who approved it?
What process was followed?
Why was it considered appropriate for the NSW Government to be associated with this venue?
Christians deserve the same respect afforded to every other faith community. Government should never be associated with projects that many people reasonably perceive as ridiculing a religion.

We are calling for:

A full explanation of how this decision was made.
A review of any government funding or official association.
A formal apology to the Christian community if this association was inappropriate.
Changes to ensure this cannot happen again.
