A Question of Values: Is Your Tax Money Funding Idols?
Every year, millions of our hard-earned tax dollars are allocated to a silent, often overlooked, cause: the maintenance and display of pagan idols on public property. This isn't a historical concern; it's a present reality in our communities, with statues like Vulcan in Birmingham and Athena in Tennessee receiving public funding for their care and upkeep.
This practice is not only a significant financial burden but a fundamental contradiction of our nation's foundational values. The cost of maintaining these statues—including cleaning, repairs, and security—diverts public funds from far more critical needs. At the same time, we are told there is not enough money for essential services like education, infrastructure, and healthcare.
This raises a crucial question: Do our tax dollars reflect our beliefs?
The display of these symbols also runs contrary to the principles of a monotheistic nation. As stated in Leviticus 26:1, “You shall not make for yourselves idols or erect an image or pillar..." This isn't just a matter of personal faith; it is a question of public policy.
It’s time to take a stand. We propose a clear path forward:
An immediate halt to all government funding for the maintenance and display of pagan idols.
A plan to repurpose these materials, redirecting them to constructive community projects.
We believe our public resources should serve our people, not our idols. This petition is a demand for common-sense spending and a renewed focus on honoring the one true God alone.
