A personal injury and gross negligence lawsuit has been filed on behalf of a young woman who broke her back and pelvis during a "riding lesson" with the Chaparral outfitter in San Francisco Golden Gate Park. 

Christine Kendrick v. Chaparral Country Corporation was filed in San Francisco Superior Court on September 8, 2023.

Humans4Horses, former Chaparral employees, and other private citizens have been advocating since 2019 to inform City of San Francisco officials about horse welfare and rider safety concerns regarding the Chaparral outfitter.

Unfortunately it has had to come to this.
