End Discrimination Based on Skin Colour, Hair Colour, Beauty, and Religion Across the Globe

The issue

On a personal level, I have had shards of painful experiences, with people being unjustifiably mean to me simply because of my red hair. Friends of mine receive equally painful remarks due to their skin colour. The pettiness doesn't stop there, as my looks are also drawn into the unwarranted fray of hate, being labelled as ugly.

We live in a world where such demeaning attitudes and behaviours should not exist. Such pervasive hate is a massive burden that no human should have to bear. It fills my heart with sorrow to admit that it has driven me, and so many others, to the brink of wanting to end our own lives.

Discrimination based on race, skin colour, hair colour, beauty, and religion is widespread globally. According to a 2019 survey by the Anti-Defamation League, a staggering 61% of Americans reported experiencing or witnessing discrimination. Another study showed that 45% of teenagers experienced racial discrimination and this greatly affected their mental health.

And yet, we stand firm in our commitment to ensure that each person's right to be treated with respect and dignity is upheld, no matter their physical or religious attributes. We can and must strive to eradicate this hate, to ensure no one has to endure this kind of undignified treatment.

I urge you to support this petition to end discrimination and spread positivity, acceptance, and understanding across the world. Please sign this petition; let's make our voices heard, and show that everyone possesses the innate right to be respected and loved for their unique selves.
