We are a group of English 9 students who believe in the power of change. This issue is not just a topic for our class, but it's something that resonates with us on a personal level. We see the discrimination against immigrants and we want to put an end to it. It's time for America to open its borders and embrace diversity.

According to the American Immigration Council, immigrants are essential contributors to our society, enriching our culture and boosting our economy. They make up over 17% of the workforce (American Immigration Council, 2020). Yet despite their contributions, they face widespread discrimination.

We call on policymakers to end this discrimination by opening American borders. By doing so, we can create an inclusive society where everyone is treated equally regardless of their origin.
